Movies show us that the perfect home has multiple bathrooms: one for the parents, another one for the children, and a separate one for the guests. But, as we all know, real life rarely has something to do with all those family movies. This means that not everyone can afford a big house with a lot of rooms and two or three bathrooms, and so, this is where this article comes in help. In order to get the right balance, a family-friendly bathroom needs to focus on the needs of both grown-ups and children, and you for sure do not need a lot of money to set aright family bathroom. For example, if you make the bathroom as children-friendly as possible, you may find yourself in the position of showering with an army of rubber ducks. On the other hand, if you ignore the fact that you and your children both use the same bathroom, then there are chances that your little ones reach something they should not.

Nothing lasts forever

When you decide to design your bathroom, it is very important to remember that things change and children grow up, so there is no need for you to turn your bathroom into a land of fairy tales that is too childish for grown-ups. So, in order to avoid a future mess, keep the bathroom design as plain as possible. This means that you can simply opt for an all-white floor tile and stoneware tile, or any other color that is not too baby-like. Also, stay away from features that are specially-built for children. Of course, you may think that a smaller toilet seat or a small sink can be perfect for your little ones, but in a couple of years you will realize that it was all in vain. Moreover, you can always accessorize your bathroom so that your children can have easy access to what they need. For instance, a stool is perfect for toilets and sinks, and you can always put it away when you no longer need it.

Choose between a shower and a bathtub

Of course, a bathtub is appropriate for babies and toddlers, but a shower is great for parents who are always in a hurry. Whatever your choice may be, you can always make it work. For example, if you choose to install a bathtub, you can also opt for an adjustable showerhead. This way, you can easily use your bathtub even if you do not have time to take a long bath. On the other hand, if you choose to have a shower, pick out some frameless glass shower doors because they look more luxurious and their design is timeless. Moreover, this type of shower door goes well with many bathroom designs, so you can decorate your bathroom as you please. Nevertheless, if you have the money and the space to have both a shower and a bathtub, then it is even better as you can get the best of both worlds.
